Salmon Donburi

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh sashimi-grade salmon fillet, sliced into thin pieces
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for marinating the salmon)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (for rice seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (for rice seasoning)
  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice (or short-grain rice)
  • 1 tablespoon salmon roe 
  • 2-3 slices atsuyaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet)
  • Radish, thinly sliced
  • Pickled white ginger 
  • Wasabi 

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon

    • Slice the fresh sashimi-grade salmon fillet into thin pieces. Optionally, marinate the salmon with a small amount of soy sauce for a few minutes.
  2. Season the Rice

    • In a small bowl, mix the rice vinegar with sugar until dissolved.
    • Gently stir the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice, ensuring the rice is evenly seasoned.
  3. Prepare the Atsuyaki Tamago

    • Slice it into thin pieces.
  4. Assemble the Donburi

    • Place the seasoned rice in a bowl.
    • Arrange the slices of salmon on top of the rice.
    • Add a few slices of atsuyaki tamago, radish slices, and a spoonful of salmon roe.
    • Add a few slices of pickled white ginger 
    • Add a little wasabi 
  5. Serve

    • Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh, vibrant Salmon Donburi!
